Dear Community Member,

Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the United States. It claims 350,000 to 450,000 lives each year – More than 1,000 die daily from sudden cardiac arrest, about one person every 90 seconds. 90 to 92% of the out of hospital events end in fatality. One half of which happen to people who did not know they had cardiac problems. Immediate bystander CPR can double or triple the chance of survival. Every minute that passes without defibrillation cuts a victim’s chance of survival by 7-10%, and after 10 minutes very few victims survive!

The American Heart Association strongly encourages defibrillation programs throughout the community. Quicker emergency care for sudden cardiac arrest victims could save up to 50,000 lives a year in the United States.  Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are portable life-saving devices that administer an electric shock to reset the heart rhythm, and are safe and easy for lay rescuers to operate in a public setting. Without AEDs, sudden cardiac arrest victims must wait until emergency rescuers arrive on the scene, which can take up to 10-30 minutes.

We are working against time!  Don’t delay in getting your AED program in place today!  Please take a moment to call us so that we can prepare an AED presentation suited to your interests.  We look forward to hearing back from you!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (352) 255-5668 via text or call.
